15 Sep Thrifty Thursday: Tea and Coffee Cups
Most people wouldn’t even think of visiting a thrift store to help decorate their wedding. Though, it is such a great option when you are developing a custom feel. There are a couple ideas here for you to think about.
Elegant Thrift
One idea we love, is buying up a bunch of random fancy teacups and using them to serve coffee/tea in with your wedding cake. Coffee cups today are white and super boring. Why not spice up the table with colorful elegant cups.
Fancy Candles
While I would use the teacups for dessert, this bride used the teacups to make candles. Check out the entire tutorial at Jess and Jill.
Simple Touches
Another example comes from The Knotty Bride. We are so in love with this wedding. It is simple and feels so elegant with the simplest of touches. Including some thrifty tea cups.
Travel Stop Thrifty
The second idea revolves around a road trip/travel theme wedding. Order a bunch of mugs that you would get at a travel stop. You could have them customized with your wedding date and people could take them home as gifts.
Example: This super cute DIY Wedding from Green Wedding Shoes, the bride a groom met over a cup of coffee and integrated that into their wedding. They found different coffee cups from thrift stores and used them as the favors in their wedding.
Mug Board
Or this beautiful Barn Wedding from Rustic Wedding Chic. The coffee mugs on a homemade board class them up to look so fancy!
What do you think about using teacups or mugs in wedding planning?
